Universities, R&D Groups and Academic Networks

COMPLEXIS is a unique forum for universities, research groups and research projects to present their research and scientific results, be it by presenting a paper, hosting a tutorial or instructional course or demonstrating its research products in demo sessions, by contributing towards panels and discussions in the event's field of interest or by presenting their project, be it by setting up an exhibition booth, by being profiled in the event's web presence or printed materials or by suggesting keynote speakers or specific thematic sessions.

Special conditions are also available for Research Projects which wish to hold meetings at INSTICC events.

Current Academic Partners:

Sapienza University of Rome - The Physics Department

The Physics Departement in Sapienza is one of the largest physics departments in Italy. It includes more than 250 scientists, among professors and researchers, and more than 66 research groups with topics ranging from high-energy physics and astrophysics to condensed matter theory, statistical physics and complex systems science.

International Center for Nonlinear Dynamics and Complex Systems

The Center was founded in January 2009 as an emanation of the "Gabriele d'Annunzio" University. At present it is hosted by Department of Management and Business Administration and it is autonomously governed.
The Center is devoted to promote research and post-graduate studies in Applied Nonlinear Analysis and Complex Systems from Natural Sciences to Economics.

Center for Research and Applications of Nonlinear Systems (C.R.A.N.S)

The Center for Research and Applications of Nonlinear Systems (C.R.A.N.S) was founded by the Senate of the University of Patras, in July 1996. Its main purpose is to contribute to the advancement of research and educational activities of scientists of working on theoretical and applied problems of Nonlinear Science and Complexity.

More specifically, C.R.A.N.S aims to:

·    Promote interdisciplinary research collaborations on nonlinear and complex systems of applied sciences.

·    Organize lectures and seminars on the most recent developments in Nonlinear Dynamics and the Science of Complexity.

·    Develop new educational methods for teaching the ideas and methods of Nonlinear Dynamical Systems and Chaos at the undergraduate and graduate level.

·    Help in the organization of International and Pan Hellenic Conferences and Summer Schools on nonlinear systems.

The main research interests of C.R.A.N.S members include:

·    Nonlinear Ordinary and Partial Differential Equations

·    Nonlinear Difference Equations and Discrete Dynamics (Mappings, Cellular Automata, Time Series, Neural Networks, Genetic Algorithms)

·    Dynamical Systems, Chaos, Nonlinear Waves, Solitons and Fluid Dynamics

·    Nonlinear Oscillations in Lattices, Electrical Circuits, Population Dynamics

·    Applications of Nonlinear Dynamics to Cardiac and Brain Electrical Activity, Nonlinear Time Series in Meteorology, Geology and Economics.

Other activities of C.R.A.N.S. include:

·    Publication of scientific papers co-authored by C.R.A.N.S members emphasizing collaboration with other Departments and Institutes

·    Submission of proposals to research and educational programmes of Greece and the EU by inter-departmental groups of C.R.A.N.S
